Cookie Policy

Last updated 30 September 2026

This page explains the cookies this website uses, what each one does, and how to change your mind. We keep the list short deliberately.

Our approach

We do not set any analytics or tracking cookies until you agree to them. When you first arrive you will see a short banner with a genuine choice: accept analytics cookies or decline them. Declining is a single click and the site works identically either way.

Ahrefs Web Analytics is loaded in the page head so the property can be verified. It does not set cookies, so it is not part of that banner choice. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity still wait for consent.

We do not use advertising cookies, we do not run remarketing, and we do not share data with advertising networks.

Strictly necessary cookies

These are set without consent because the site cannot work properly without them, which is permitted under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations.

Our hosting provider may also set short-lived cookies for security and load balancing.

Analytics cookies

These are only set if you accept them. They tell us which pages are useful and where people give up, in aggregate.

NameSet byPurposeDuration
_gaGoogle Analytics 4Distinguishes one browser from another so visits can be counted2 years
_ga_*Google Analytics 4Maintains session state2 years
_clckMicrosoft ClarityLinks page interactions to a single browser1 year
_clskMicrosoft ClarityGroups interactions within one visit1 day

Changing your mind

You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings control on this page, or the cookie settings link in the footer of every page. Declining after previously accepting stops any further collection.

You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings, and browsers let you delete existing cookies for a specific site. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will mean the consent banner reappears on each visit, because the record of your choice is itself a cookie.
