Automate · Run reliably with Microsoft 365

Stop doing the same admin twice

Once enquiries are coming in and being handled, the next cost is the admin behind them. Rekeying data, chasing approvals, hunting for documents, answering the same internal questions. We automate that work on the Microsoft 365 tools you already pay for, starting with the process that costs you the most time. Automate is the last of our four service areas. Foundation builds the platform, Attract and Convert bring in and handle the enquiries, and Automate removes the repetitive work that follows.

Where the hours go

As a business grows, admin usually grows faster than the systems behind it. Automation for small business starts with spotting where that is happening. The usual suspects:

  • The same details typed into two or three systems because they do not talk to each other
  • Approvals that sit in someone's inbox until they are chased
  • Documents spread across email, personal OneDrive folders and old shared drives, so nobody trusts the version they find
  • Staff asking the same IT, HR and process questions every week
  • Copilot licences bought and then barely used

Here is the admin we take off your plate

Each service is scoped around a business outcome, not a tool. Most clients start with one and add another once the first is working.

Need the platform built first? That is Foundation

Microsoft 365 Foundation is not an Automate service. If your tenant, SharePoint structure, permissions or security need building or fixing before anything is automated, that work sits in our Foundation section: Microsoft 365 Foundation (including the SharePoint platform build), tenant migration, and four assessments, one of which is the Copilot Readiness Assessment.

Automation built on an untidy tenant inherits every problem in it, so we will tell you if Foundation work should come first.

How Automate fits with Attract and Convert

Attract generates the enquiries. Convert makes sure each one gets a reply and a follow-up. Automate handles what happens after the sale: the job sheet, the invoice, the document approval, the new starter who joins because you won more work.

One team designs all three, so the details from an enquiry carry through to delivery without being typed in again.

How an Automate engagement runs

If the right answer is a better spreadsheet, or no change at all, we will say so.

  1. 01

    Understand

We learn how the process runs today, who touches it and where it stalls.

  2. 02

    Assess

We gather evidence, such as volumes, time spent and where errors creep in, and separate the automations worth building from the ones that would be over-engineering.

  3. 03

    Improve

We build, test with the people who do the work, and hand over with clear ownership.

  4. 04

    Support

Where you want it, we monitor, adjust and move on to the next process.

The kind of work we automate

  • Tender Assistant

An assistant that pulls past answers, policies and case material from SharePoint to draft first responses to tender questions, ready for a person to edit.

  • Invoice approvals

Supplier invoices read, checked against the purchase order and sent to the right approver in Teams, with the approved copy filed in SharePoint.

  • New starter set-up

One form from HR triggers the IT, manager and equipment tasks, and a Teams assistant answers the new starter's first questions.

What Automate is not

We are not a managed IT support provider and we do not run a service desk. We do not sell open-ended automation programmes, and we do not add AI where a simple rule does the job better.

FAQs

Common questions

What does business automation mean in practice?

Using software to do the repeatable steps people currently do by hand: moving data between systems, routing approvals, filing documents, sending reminders and answering routine questions. For most of our clients that means Power Automate, SharePoint, Teams and Copilot, because they already pay for Microsoft 365.

Where should a small business start?

With one process that happens often, follows clear rules and annoys people. Small business automation works best when it starts small and proves itself. We help you pick that first process in the free consultation.

Is Microsoft 365 Foundation part of Automate?

No. Building or fixing the Microsoft 365 platform, including SharePoint structure and permissions, is our Foundation service. Automate starts once that platform is in reasonable shape. If you are not sure which you need, book a call and we will tell you.

Do we need Microsoft 365?

Most of what we build runs on Microsoft 365, and that is where we are strongest. We also connect to CRM, accounting and job management systems where they offer a connector or API.

Are you an automation consultancy or a software vendor?

An automation consultancy. We do not sell a platform of our own. We design and build on tools you already own, so the workflows stay in your Microsoft 365 tenant.

Will we deal with a business automation consultant or an account manager?

You work directly with the people who design and build the work, Tom and Dan, from the first conversation to handover.

How much does automation cost?

It depends on the process, the systems involved and how much of it is worth automating, so we scope each piece of work after the first conversation rather than publishing prices.
