What is a Copilot Studio agent?
An assistant built in Microsoft Copilot Studio that answers questions from sources you choose and can carry out actions, such as starting an approval or logging a request, inside Microsoft 365.
Do staff need a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence to use an agent?
It depends on where the agent is published and what it does. Some agents can be used without a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence under Copilot Studio's own licensing. We confirm the right option for your case.
How is this different from building an agent inside Microsoft 365 Copilot?
Simple Microsoft Copilot agents can be built by users with the agent builder in Microsoft 365 Copilot. Copilot Studio is for agents that need actions, integrations, sign-in or wider publishing.
Will the agent make things up?
We ground it in your content, instruct it to say when it does not know, test it on real questions and give it a route to a person. That keeps wrong answers rare and visible.
