Microsoft 365 and Office 365 assessments for growing businesses
Find out what state your Microsoft 365 tenant is really in before you spend money on a rebuild, a migration or Copilot licences. We review how it is set up and how people use it, then give you the findings in plain English with clear priorities. You can stop there.
We reply within one working day. No obligation.
Evidence before spend
Agencies sell the next campaign. Managed service providers sell the next support contract. We look at how the tenant actually works before recommending anything, and we do not invent findings to create a project.
Common reasons people ask for an office 365 assessment:
- "We have Microsoft 365, but nobody trusts it"
- A customer, insurer or board has sent security questions
- Copilot licences are on a quote and nobody knows whether the tenant is ready
- You want Convert or Automate work, but not on top of a mess
- You are choosing between tidying up where you are and a tenant migration
Start with the free Microsoft 365 assessment
Most businesses start here. We look at your tenant's security basics, governance and licensing, then tell you in plain English what needs attention first and which of the four reviews below, if any, is worth doing next. It commits you to nothing beyond a look at the tenant.
What it can surface:
- Security and identity risks, including more admin access than people need
- Governance gaps, such as sites and teams with no owner
- Licensing that does not match how people work
- Priorities: what to fix now, what to plan, and what to leave alone
How a review runs
1. Scope. We agree which review you need. Often the free assessment alone is enough to decide.
- 2. Access. Time-limited admin access and a short discovery call with a named owner on your side.
- 3. Review. We look at configuration and real usage, and we say where something cannot be verified.
- 4. Findings. Written findings with priorities and sensible next steps. You can stop here.
- 5. Optional plan. Only if you want costs and an order of work for a build, a migration or later automation.
- Pricing for the paid reviews is agreed once the scope is clear.

Microsoft 365 Health Assessment
A practical Microsoft 365 health check: security basics, licensing fit, sprawl and whether the tenant is ready for what you want to do next. If you know it as an Office 365 health check, it is the same thing.
Who it is for: anyone who wants a straight answer on whether Microsoft 365 is safe enough and tidy enough to build on.
What you get:
- A picture of identity, sharing, Teams and SharePoint sprawl, and admin hygiene
- A licensing sense-check against how people work
- Prioritised issues: fix now, plan next, leave for now
- A recommended next step: stop, Microsoft 365 Foundation, a migration, or one of the deeper reviews below
- Security & Compliance Review

Security & Compliance Review
A focused Microsoft 365 security assessment covering identity, access and data protection, with practical fixes. Whether you call it a Microsoft 365 security audit or an Office 365 security audit, the starting point is the same: knowing what is actually configured today, not what was set up when the tenant was created.
Who it is for: businesses facing customer security questionnaires, insurer questions or a board that wants reassurance, without buying an enterprise security operations service.
What you get:
- A review of MFA, conditional access, guest and external sharing, and privileged admin roles
- Data protection and retention settings that matter at your size
- A plain-English risk list with practical options to fix each item
- A clear note of what still needs a specialist, such as legal advice, certification programmes or 24/7 monitoring
- Copilot Readiness Assessment

Copilot Readiness Assessment
Microsoft 365 Copilot can surface anything a user already has access to. A Copilot readiness assessment checks what that would mean in your tenant before you pay for licences.
Who it is for: teams with Copilot on a quote, a vendor demo behind them, or pressure to "do something with AI" without knowing what Copilot would see.
What you get:
- A readiness view across identity, where data lives, oversharing and sensitive content
- A clear recommendation: go, not yet, or fix these first
- The Foundation fixes to make first, usually structure and permissions
- Digital Workplace Assessment

Digital Workplace Assessment
A wider review of how work actually gets done across Microsoft 365 and the other tools around it. It is the digital workplace consultancy step before anyone pitches you a transformation project.
Who it is for: owners and operations leads who feel the tools are noisy, duplicated or ignored, and want a map before spending more.
What you get:
- A picture of where email, Teams, SharePoint, files and line-of-business tools overlap or collide
- The gaps that slow down enquiries arriving (Attract), responses going out (Convert) or routine admin (Automate)
- Prioritised opportunities, with Foundation and Automate work clearly separated

What happens after the findings
An assessment feeds the next decision. It does not replace the work.
Foundation builds and migrations fix what the review finds.
Convert needs a tenant people trust before an AI front desk or shared mailbox assistant goes live.
Automate needs readiness and structure first. Process automation and Copilot adoption come after.
FAQs
Common questions
Is the free Microsoft 365 assessment the same as the Health Assessment?
The free assessment is the starting point. It covers the basics and tells you whether a fuller Health Assessment, or one of the other reviews, is worth doing.
Can we buy just one of the four reviews?
Yes. Pick the one that matches the decision in front of you. We will not bundle the others unless they clearly help.
Will you push a big project after every assessment?
No. Many businesses stop at the findings. If we recommend a build, a migration or automation work, it comes as options with reasons.
Do these assessments replace our IT support provider?
No. They are point-in-time reviews. Day-to-day device support and 24/7 monitoring are a different kind of service.
How is Copilot Readiness different from Copilot Adoption?
Readiness, on this page, asks whether you should turn Copilot on yet. Adoption, under Automate, helps people use it well after you have decided yes.
Is a Microsoft 365 security assessment the same as Cyber Essentials?
No. Cyber Essentials is a certification scheme with its own assessment. Our Security & Compliance Review looks at your Microsoft 365 configuration. The findings can help you prepare, but they are not a certificate.
Start with one question about your tenant
You do not need all four reviews. Most useful conversations start with one worry and the free Microsoft 365 assessment. We reply within one working day. No obligation, no sales sequence, no mailing list. Or email hello@ventric.co.uk or call 0330 551 9400.
